Our story
Two points of contact, one in Italy and one in Morocco
Direzione Marocco was born from the partnership between Sonia Barbieri and Omar Boutesga: Sonia looks after travellers through listening, planning and assistance; Omar coordinates drivers, guides, transfers, riads and stops in Morocco thanks to his first-hand knowledge of the country.
The agency is registered in Morocco, in the Rissani area, and works with a selected local team, trusted drivers, and 4x4 jeeps and modern vans suited to each itinerary.
For years they have been helping travellers discover authentic Morocco, with private tours built around them and direct contact before and during the trip.

Travel consultant and Italian point of contact
Sonia Barbieri has worked in travel for more than ten years. She started out as a curious traveller, drawn to authentic places and encounters that leave a mark.
Over time this passion became her work, first organising tailor-made trips and then working with the Italian tour operator Open Space, with whom she continues to design personalised itineraries to other destinations around the world.
At Direzione Marocco she handles your enquiry, builds the itinerary and answers your questions before departure, remaining a point of contact during the trip too.

Omar Boutesga
Local coordinator in Morocco
Omar Boutesga lives and works in Morocco and has worked in tourism since 2008.
He knows the desert, mountains, oases, imperial cities and southern villages first-hand. Over the years he has accompanied travellers from many countries, organising and coordinating tours across the region.
At Direzione Marocco he coordinates the local side of the trip: drivers, guides, transfers, riads, desert camps, stops and experiences.
