A journey through the wonders of Morocco, an exotic gateway to Africa: the High Atlas mountains, the boundless deserts of the Sahara inhabited by the Berber population, landscapes of sublime beauty, the winding alleys of the ancient medinas. Are you ready to discover the red earth of the Great South? From Ait Ben Haddou with its kasbah, you will move on to the Sahara Desert at sunset, to then visit the Dadès valley, the Rose valley, the Todra Gorges and the Draa valley oasis, to conclude in Marrakech, a full city of life and colours.

Day 1

Italy-Marrakech

Arrival at Marrakech airport, welcome and private transfer to the Riad in the ancient medina of Marrakech. First visit to the alleys of the medina. Free evening.

Day 3

Marrakech - Ounila Valley - Ait Ben Haddou

After breakfast departure from Marrakech  direction to the village of Ait Ben Haddou. On the way we will cross the fascinating mountains of the High Atlas, a mountain range that extends for over 1000 km crossing Morocco from the east to the Algerian border, with peaks over 3000 metres, in a mountain environment with a bewitching charm. Stop at the Tizi 'n Tichka pass, at 2,260 metres, where you can take beautiful shots of the landscape. We continue towards the Ounila Valley, a magnificent panoramic road, between the red colors of the mountains and the green of the palm groves and oases, with its houses characteristic of Berber villages. The transfer ends in Ait Ben Haddou where we will take a guided tour of the Ksar, the fortified city with extraordinary clay constructions, a UNESCO world heritage site since 1987. Protagonist of many famous films such as Gladiator, the Last Temptation of Christ, Game of Thrones , The Crusades, etc. You will walk up through narrow streets, walls and characteristic craft shops until you reach the top from the characteristic barn and towards a unique 360 degree landscape towards the mountains and the desert.  Transfer duration approximately 5 hours.

Day 4

Ait Ben Haddou - Dades Gorges

Our journey will continue through the famous Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs towards the Dadès Gorges, well known to nature and adventure sports lovers. Along the way you can see cultivated fields, green valleys and mud villages; here we will be able to collect magnificent shots. We will make an excursion to the Skoura Oasis among the beautiful date palms and we will begin with a visit to the Kasbah of Ameridil, a real museum where life flows as in past centuries (guided tour in Italian). Arrival in the Dades Gorges in the afternoon with final excursion into the gorges. Journey time approximately 4 hours. Accommodation Riad.

Day 5

Dades - Todra Gorges - Merzouga Dunes

After a hearty breakfast, our journey resumes. Even today the main background of our objectives will be the desert, with the ocher and warm colors of the sand. Our day begins with a short excursion to the magnificent Gorges and the Todra oasis with two spectacular canyons that insinuate themselves into the High Atlas chain. From here, we will go towards Merzouga, with stops at Ksar Al Khorbat and we will stop at the village of Tinjdad for an immersion in the life of the populations of the Moroccan Sahara. We will arrive in the desert in the afternoon, dromedary excursion to the dunes. We will have dinner in the tented camp and be fascinated by the starry desert sky. Journey time approximately 5 hours.

Day 6

Merzouga - Draa Valley

After a hearty early breakfast, we will leave to visit the Mulay Ali Cherif Mausoleum of Rissani, dedicated to the origins of the Alaouite royal dynasty. Here we will be able to appreciate the decorations of the mosque and its mosaics. During the day we will cross the Draa Valley, the largest oasis in all of North Africa, an immense concentration of date palms with hundreds of small fortified cities and ancient ruins. We will continue with the guided tour of the Kasbah of Tamnougalt, an ancient fortress known as the set of some famous film scenes. From here we can admire the splendid Draa Valley. To then move to the famous Agdz Suq where we will see the local workforce

Day 7

Draa Valley - Ouarzazate – Marrakech

Return to Marrakech via the High Atlas. Stop in the quiet town of Quarzazate, on request visit to the famous Studios and the Cinema Museum, various films set in the desert are still being shot, including famous Hollywood epic productions such as Lawrence of Arabia, Tea in the Desert, etc. After the visit we depart in the direction of Marrakech. Accommodation  Riad/Hotel. Journey time approximately 6 hours.

Giorno 3 Gennaio

Marrakech, la medina

Dopo colazione, visita guidata in lingua italiana della medina di Marrakech, città effervescente che brulica di attività, circondata da 19 km di mura costruite nel 1122 La parte più antica e' il souk che offre una panoramica completa di tutto l’artigianato del Marocco: troviamo tintori, cestai, mastri ferrai e ci immergeremo negli aromi e sapori forti tra storia, tradizioni e cultura. Siete pronti a farvi trasportare dagli odori, dai colori e dai suoni? La visita continua nella suggestiva piazza principale di Marrakech Jemaa el-Fna e con le sue principali attrazioni. Su richiesta si prosegue con la visita dei meravigliosi Giardini Majorelle creati nel 1924 da Jacques Majorelle, pittore francese, una grande oasi verde con tantissime piante differenti provenienti da ogni parte del mondo. La tenuta si arricchisce di un ulteriore tocco di blu che ricorda i colori dell’oceano: qui possiamo catturare nei nostri scatti le immagini dell’arte botanica in tutto il suo splendore. Serata libera tra le vie di Marrakech. Sistemazione in Riad/Hotel.

Day 8

Marrakech - Italy

Breakfast in Riad, private transfer to Marrakech airport for departure by plane to Italy. Journey time 40 minutes
